Texila American University (TAU) is a consortium of universities and campuses strategically spread across countries and continents. TAU was established in Guyana in 2010 at Critchlow Campus, Woolford Avenue with five (5) students. Its student population quickly grew to 438 students coming from thirty-five (35) countries in five (5) years; which foresaw the establishment of Goedverwagting and Fujairah campuses. TAU in Zambia was established upon registration with the Higher Education Authority under the HEA Act of 2013. TAU Zambia Head Office and the College of Medicine are based at Kwacha Square along Lake Road Avenue and offers the joint Bachelor of Surgery and Medicine program (MBChB).
TAU Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) program trains and equips pharmaceutical human resource to deliver quality pharmaceutical care services in Zambia, the region and globally. The TAU BPharm program has been designed to run on a four (4) year training pathway with a foundational year for those starting from the health professions foundation program prepharmacy entry route. The program is structured towards attaining the four core competence domains and practice focus of a pharmacist. This framework is adapted and contextualized from global recommendations by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
